The Eating Behaviour Research Lab (EAT Lab) provides expert services in performing and interpreting (a) precise analysis of whole body composition and selected body segments and (b) 24-hour physical activity monitoring (ActiGraph GT3X-BT accelerometers).

The whole body composition analysis includes the following measurements:

  • Actual body weight, standard weight (kg);
  • LBM (Lean Body Mass) – lean body mass (kg);
  • TBW (Total Body Water) – total water content (kg);
  • BMI (Body Mass Index) – body mass index (kg/m2);
  • ICW (Intercellular Water) – intracellular water content (%);
  • ECW (Extracellular Water) – extracellular water content (%);
  • MBF (Mass of Body Fat) – mass of body fat (kg);
  • PBF (Percent Body Fat) – percentage of body fat (%);
  • WHR (Waist hip ratio) – the ratio of waist to hip circumferences (ratio);
  • BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) – basic metabolism (kcal);
  • eCW/TBW- extracellular/total water ratio;
  • Impedance (Ω);
  • Silhouette type;
  • Objectives to be achieved;
  • Protein content (kg);
  • Mineral content (kg);
  • VFL (Visceral Fat Level) – measurement of visceral fat (scale 1-16)

Segmental analysis:

  • LBM (Lean Body Mass) – beztłuszczowa masa ciała w
  • LBM (Lean Body Mass) – lean body mass in relation to three levels (correct, normal, below normal) (kg)
  • MBF (Mass of Body Fat) – mass of body fat with reference to three levels: increased, normal, decreased (kg)
  • SLM (Soft Lean Mass) – soft tissue mass with reference to three levels: good, normal, below normal (kg)

Accuniq BC310 body composition analyser, Selvas Healthcare is CE0197 certified and complies with MDD 93/42/EEC medical device directives.

The ActiGraph GT3X-BT accelerometers are scientific measuring equipment and are CE certified and meet the requirements of the European Medical Directive MDD93/42.
