CULTURAL HERITAGE RESEARCH LABORATORY
The laboratory conducts research on works of art and archaeological objects. Material studies of historic objects are performed, including the analysis of painting materials, manuscript materials, ceramics, metal objects, minerals, gemstones and amber. The laboratory specialises in easel painting research and amber provenance studies.
Since 2015, the laboratory has represented the University of Wrocław in E-HRIS PL Polish Consortium for Research on Cultural Heritage which, from 2020, by the decision of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, has been placed on the Polish Road Map of Research Infrastructures. Every year, the laboratory conducts research within the framework of scientific projects selected in MOLAB/FIXALAB competition organised by E-HRIS PL Consortium.
The laboratory performs research as part of scientific projects carried out by the units of the University of Wrocław and other academic centres. Research is also conducted on behalf of external entities such as museums.
